Another bird walking away… sigh… at least not flying away and she did have the courtesy to look back over the shoulder…
The LWFG is IUCN red listed as Threatened (Vulnerable). This is also considered a rare sighting in Jordan but while this is a far south passage for them, my understanding is that they have been coming here to the ABO for the last two years. In fact the Manager of the ABO first spotted them here. I had the great pleasure of being escorted around the ABS by Feras himself also. A real honor and a treat as he’s a very nice guy and fine birder with much keener eyes and skills than me. 🙂
Once again, a shout out to the Jordan Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), their wonderful facilities and their great staff.
