Western Turkey

Rick Steves’ Europe Travel Guide | From the port of Kuşadası, we wander the streets of ancient Ephesus, soak in a natural spa at Pamukkale, learn why the dervishes whirl at Konya, munch lunch in a Turkish pizzeria, and cruise the Mediterranean on a traditional Turkish gulet from Antalya. Turkey is a mighty nation whose ancient heritage, Muslim faith, and western ways are coming together…and we’ll see how. | © 2014 Rick Steves’ Europe #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #turkey

  1. Rick Steve finds turkey "as rich in history as Greece" – SHAME !! …….. does he purposely neglect that ancient Ionia (Asia Minor) WAS ALL GREECE !?!? or maybe Rick is just ignorant or paid off to mislead the uneducated !??!? 🙁 🙁

  2. 2bad about mono theism very stubborn and arrogant have to inflict their theocratic terror upon the greater population. Good to see the world waking up and casting the shackles of superstition aside. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

  3. 7:21 referred to as a Roman city. But Ephesos was not a Roman city. Was a Greek city .
In the first century after Christ was inhabited by 250.000 Greeks with Roman citizenship, and Apostle Paul said his sermon and wrote the letter to the Ephesians in Greek.

  4. I'm a born and raised Istanbulite, and I've travelled around Turkey, so I'm aware of all the beauties Turkey has to offer, but I must say, your documentary is a top-notch. Loved it!

  5. It's impressive that, while this place is next door to Greece, the human made landscape (architecture, decoration etc) and people themselves are so different from what you will see in Greece. I mean, the natural landscape is identical, but while you are in Western Turkey the scenery is completely different: mosques, oriental architecture (Arabic archs in buildings etc), bazaars, Oriental rugs and carpets, hookahs are everywhere. At the same time, many People are dressed in a West Asian way
